Le nomination ai Grammy 2020  si presentano come la scorsa edizione tutte al femminile. Molte cantanti hanno quindi preso i premi lasciando indietro i colleghi maschietti. 

Per capire se il trend di vincitrici al femminile si ripeterà anche quest'anno bisognerà aspettare  la cerimonia dei 62°Grammy Awards, prevista a Los Angeles per il  26 dicembre che vede alla conduzione  Alicia Keys.

Intanto   è Lizzo l'artista che registra più nomination e quindi candidature per ottenere gli ambiti e prestigiosi premi distributi dal mondo della musica.

Lizzo è quindi in alto nelle preferenze con otto candidature, tra cui quelle principali: Album dell'Anno (Cuz I Love You), Record of The Year (Truth Hurts), Canzone dell'anno (Truth Hurts), Best Pop Solo Performance (Truth Hurts), Best R&B Performance (Exactly How I Feel featuring Gucci Mane), Best Traditional R&B Performance (Jerome) e Best Urban Contemporary Album (Cuz I Love You).

Insieme a Lizzo  nella categoria Miglior Nuovo Artista, ci sono altre due nuove proposte rivelazione dell' anno ovvero:  Billie Eilish e il rapper Lil Nas X, che con sei nomination ciascuno seguono Lizzo nel medagliere delle nomination.

Tra le 84 categorie dei Grammy 2020, anche un nostro orgoglio italiano, Andrea Bocelli, candidato con l’album Sì nella categoria Best Traditional Pop Vocal Album.

Ariana Grande,  si aggiudica 5 candidature, tra cui quella per Record of the year per 7 Rings e Album of the year per “Thank U, Next. Cinque sono anche le nomination di H.E.R., che l'anno scorso ha vinto due Grammy 

La dieci volte vincitrice Taylor Swift  mette nel suo paniere tre candidature, di cui solo una prestigiosa (Song of the year).  Anche Beyoncé, è presente con la candidatura  alla Best Solo Performance e Best Song Written for Visual Media con Spirit, al Best Pop Vocal Album con The Lion King-The Gift e con Homecoming Best Music Film.
